Although it is sometimes difficult, depending on markets, establish what are our competitive advantages, the fact is that if they do not see with the naked eye, you must create them. A competitive advantage can not exist in itself, so the company must put great effort to discover, empower and offer it to market. This is accomplished by a thorough analysis of competition and especially the scale of values of the company, and the perception that our market or niche market for us.
A competitive advantage is a feature that differentiates a product, service or company from its competitors, so for this feature is called advantage, must be unique, differential, strategically valued by the market and mainly communicated.
Develop and to promote a competitive advantage, not an easy task. To begin we must put ourselves in the reality of both the company and market realities, and take into account what we can bring our different product or service and see the feasibility of this contribution, but overall, know what part of our company is located, and strengthened.
A competitive advantage is not only a tangible property in a product or a service perceptible, but is also can develop a product equal or similar to the competition, but presented differently, highlighting possible distribution channels or price .
A brand can also signify a competitive advantage over competitors, it is a value that the market perceives and creates confidence. That is why in many cases some products or services, are just not as innovative or different, to come with the stamp of a brand, already have or are benefiting from the competitive advantage in themselves.
Exist within companies, countless examples of competitive advantages that are applicable on some products or services, such as having a patent, brand equity, have exclusive distribution channels, having a department of IDI, have high production processes quality, so I could mention many more. Finding Competitive Advantage or benefits, is a task that the company itself has to be “discovered”, since the existence of markets as volatile today, with frequent innovations, means that companies need to work every day in the creation of such benefits competitive, maintain, exploit, and go looking for more emphasis on those characteristics that make us different from other competition, and above all, to fight for these features are perceived and valued by our current and potential market, keeping the largest as possible in the minds of customers or consumers.
